Sea Salt Rollout Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1+1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 to 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar at high speed until fluffy.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla and combine thoroughly.
  3. Add the sea salt (as much as you like)
  4. In a separate bowl whisk together the flour and baking powder.
  5. Turn the mixer speed down to low and add the dry ingredients.
  6. Beat until everything is combined.
  7. Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

  8. Turn the dough out on a lightly floured surface. Roll out and cut out shapes using cookie cutters of your choice.
  9. Place in oven and bake for 10 minutes until the edges start to turn a light golden brown color.

  10. Remove from oven and transfer to a wire rack. Let cool completely before icing.
