Ingredients

  • 4 ripe Bartlett pears
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper

  3. Wash the pears and pat dry.

  4. Halve the pears and use a teaspoon to scoop out the core and seeds on each half.

  5. Cut a very small slice on the bottom of each pear half so they sit evening on the sheet and are not rolling to one side.

  6. Lay the pears out on the prepared baking sheet and brush each half with the lemon juice.

  7. Place the pan in the oven and bake the pears for 10 minutes. They should be soft to the touch after 10 minutes and a fork should easily run through them.

  8. Sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese over the pears. Season with freshly ground black pepper.

  9. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the top.

  10. Place the pan back in the oven and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese has softened and the walnuts are slightly toasted.

  11. Remove from the oven, plate, and serve warm.
