Salt & Pepper Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1+1/2 cups AP flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1+1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper I used fresh ground
  • 3 cups Quaker oats

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Combine flour, baking soda, pepper, and salt in a bowl, whisk or sift together. Set aside.
  4. Beat butter and the sugars until creamy.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined.
  6. Add the flour mixture in thirds.
  7. Use a tablespoon or cookie to form cookies and drop onto baking sheets (or check out the tutorial above).
  8. Bake 10-12 minutes or less, depending on how gooey and soft you like them.
  9. Remove from oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
