Homemade Fig Cinnamon Liqueur

Ingredients

  • 8 oz fresh figs
  • 3/4 cup brown rock sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean powder
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1+1/2 cups vodka

Instructions

  1. Gently rinse the figs and pat them dry. Cut each into eight sections.

  2. Place the figs in a large clean jar.

  3. Add the rock sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon stick and fill with the vodka.

  4. Close the jar tightly and stow it for 8 days in a cool place.

  5. Shake the bottle daily until the rock candy has dissolved.

  6. Strain the liquid into a small (1 cup capacity) sterilized bottle.

  7. Close the bottle and store it in a cool, dark place.
