Shred the cabbage. Discard the stalk.
Peel and dice the onions.
Peel, core, and dice the apples.
2 Sauté the onions in butter until translucent.
Stir in the cabbage and apple.
Add cinnamon, sugar, salt, red wine and vinegar.
Bring to a boil, them turn the heat down to low.
Simmer covered for 1 hour.
check the pot occasionally, if the liquid has completely evaporated, add a little water.
Remove from heat and Stir in the apple jelly.
Season with more salt and/or sugar if desired and serve.
