Toast walnuts in a naked skillet. Set aside.

Whisk together four, turmeric, baking soda, and table salt.

Cream butter and sugars together until well combined.

Beat in vanilla.

Add eggs one at a time. Ensure the first is completely incorporated into the batter before adding the second.

Turn the mixer speed down to low and slowly add the flour until it is combined.

Fold in chips and toasted walnuts.

Wrap the batter in plastic cling film. Chill for 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 375F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

Form balls and place them on the baking sheet.

Top with a few flakes of salt.
