Eating Puerto Morelos Mexico was not the goal. Scuba diving was. However, we found a lot of delicious in this hidden gem on the Riviera Maya between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Unlike its bustling neighbors, this charming fishing village offers a laid-back vibe with beautiful beaches, incredible snorkeling, and a touch of local authenticity. We came for its underwater treasures. But also left with delicious memories from above the water.
The restaurant scene is a delicious blend of fresh seafood, authentic Mexican flavors, and international cuisine. So whether you’re craving street tacos, a gourmet meal with an ocean view, or a casual beach bar with live music, this little town has it.
Incidentally, the diving is great. We dove with Wet Set Diving Adventures which provides great service. Bonus points for access to cenote dives! Mexico vacations are wonderful. However, let’s face it, you can only consume so many tacos, burritos, guac, and chips. Surprisingly, in Puerto Morelos, we found many diverse culinary options. We ran out of time before trying all the ones on my list. Regardless, here are a few fabulous meals we had while Eating Puerto Morelos, Mexico.
