Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons + 1/3 cup pomegranate molasses divided
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons clarified butter
  • 2 8 oz. Wheels of Camembert cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped raw walnuts plus some for garnish
  • 1/3 cup fresh pomegranate arils.
  • 2 tablespoons pomegranate liqueur
  • Crackers baguette, or bread

Instructions

  1. Spread the panko out on a flat plate.
  2. Beat the egg and pour it onto a second flat plate.
  3. Spread the flour out onto a third flat plate.
  4. Heat the 2 tablespoons of pomegranate molasses for 30 seconds in the microwave.
  5. Brush the camembert on all sides with the heated molasses.
  6. Coat the camembert in the flour, then egg, then panko. Repeat with the other Camembert.
  7. Heat the clarified butter in a skillet.
  8. Add both to the skillet and fry on both sides until golden brown.
  9. Use tongs to gently and briefly roll the uncooked sides in the clarified butter until slightly golden.
  10. Transfer to a serving plate and cover with foil to keep warm.
  11. Place the 1/3 cup pomegranate molasses and pomegranate liqueur in a small pan over a low heat.
  12. Heat stirring until everything is smooth and combined.
  13. Remove from the heat and stir in the walnuts.
  14. Pour the mixture over the fried Camembert.
  15. Garnish with pomegranate arils and walnuts.
  16. Serve immediately with crackers, bread, or baguette slices.
