These creepy yet delicious Puff Pastry Monster Hands are the perfect addition to your Halloween spread. And the best part? They’re super easy to make, even for those who avoid the kitchen like it’s haunted.
Here’s how it goes down. Grab a sheet of puff pastry and start cutting out hand shapes. You can get creative with this—go for creepy claws, skeletal fingers, or just some good old-fashioned monster mitts. And if you want to make things really interesting, trace your own hand for that “yikes, this is way too lifelike” effect. Additionally, you can use a stencil. However, I cut these freehand and I’m no artist. If they come out a bit wonky it’s no problem. Because the wonkier, the creepier they look.
Tip: pinch the fingers. It gives them a gruesome dimension.
Once the Puff Pastry Monster Hands are ready, give them a glossy egg wash. Then sprinkle on Everything seasoning. Why? Because Everything seasoning makes everything better. It’s the Halloween magic trick you didn’t know you needed. I got you. so a recipe for a homemade version is below.
Now comes the fun part. Drape your pastry hands over baking cylinders for that extra spooky, curled-finger look. No baking cylinders? No worries! Just scrunch up some foil and call it a day. Then pop those bad boys in the oven for 15 minutes, and boom—crispy, golden monster hands that look terrifyingly delicious.
Serve alone or with dips
At around two inches long, these little hands are perfect for scooping up dip or just munching on their own. But if you’re feeling extra daring, go ahead and make a life-size version. Imagine your guests’ faces when they grab a giant puff pastry hand off the snack table. Now that’s Halloween gold.
Whether you’re hosting a haunted bash or just want to freak out your family, Puff Pastry Monster Hands is the ultimate Halloween party hit. Easy to make, fun to eat, and just the right amount of spooky. Happy haunting!
