Last Wednesday was a landmark day. First of all, it was my 10th wedding anniversary. Happy Anniversary to me and Dr. B.
I spent that morning with a group of lovely people meeting Buddy Valastro, the Cake Boss himself and having some fun at his place (more on that in a future post) and then the DOMA decision came down and my day turned epic.
A roller coaster of emotions followed with overwhelming feelings, both happy and sad. Crying and laughing with friends in person and on the phone. So profoundly happy for a wonderful civil rights victory in this country and so deeply sad for all the people I’ve known taken too early who never lived to see it.
I had a Pridetini party the night before marching in NYC’s Gay Pride parade bringing together my friends from NYC and Milford, PA. We downed rainbows of food and cocktails and had a great time.
The parade it self was amazing as usual but a little extra over the top on the heels of the DOMA ruling. I marched with the Upper Delaware GLBT group (I am on the board of the organization)
Other crazy things that happened this month were the 100s of baked goods I was asked to/volunteered to make for various parties and events and had no time to post.
Oh, and I was hired to write some recipes for the Duncan Hines website.
I’m leaving for Germany and then the Caribbean in a few days for vaycay so there was absolutely no time for blogging this month.
I am also severely behind on visiting other people’s blogs. Hoping to catch up on that when I am back in Germany.
In the meantime, here are a few posts I found around that I found extra amusing…
Eat the Love’s Attending a Food Blogging Conference
Lady and Pups The Infinite Kitchen Sink Hand Pie
Cake Wrecks’ Dad’s Big Day

Wow! You have been busy! Congratulations on being asked to write recipes for Duncan Hines and am I ever looking forward to hearing more about your visit with Buddy! So happy for everyone so impacted by DOMA's decision, and yes…very sad for all those who did not live to see it. The parade looked like a ton of fun and you and your adopted daughter look wonderful.
Enjoy *going home* to Germany and relaxing in the Carribean!
