I’ve written a recipe for these Easter Egg Appetizer Skewers. However, if you can hard boil eggs, you are good to go. The rest can be left to your imagination or what you have on hand.
Peel the eggs and place them in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Cut them into thirds. Place the bottom (wider) slice on a skewer, yolk up. Slather mustard on top. Fold up a sliver of Black Forest ham and push it on top of the bottom egg slice. Pierce the middle section and repeat with the mustard, a piece of lettuce and gouda cheese. Top with the remaining third of the egg. Once the finished skewers are laid out on a plate, sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Substitute the mustard with mayo or your favorite creamy dressing such as Russian or bleu cheese. Add some fresh dill, basil or oregano in addition to the greens. Swap out the ham for turkey or use ham, turkey, and salami for the full Dagwood. The cheese is also your choice. Also, this is the time to break out your fancy flavored salts and peppers.
