Savory Emmental Rosemary Muffins

So, what makes Savory Emmental Rosemary Muffins so irresistible? Let’s talk cheese. Emmental is a Swiss-style cheese. It’s famous for those cartoon-worthy holes. It’s also mild, nutty, and melts like a dream. However, if you can’t find it, don’t panic. Gruyère, Jarlsberg, or even Swiss cheese step in beautifully. Crisis averted.

Fresh Rosemary and Shredded Emmental cheese

Now, the magic begins. First, whisk flour, baking powder, pepper, and salt. Meanwhile, beat butter and eggs until creamy and dreamy. Then, beat in sour cream. Yes, sour cream. It’s the secret weapon. It keeps Savory Emmental Rosemary Muffins tender, moist, and just a little indulgent. Next, add the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Don’t overthink it. Muffins hate overthinking.

After that, fold in chopped fresh rosemary and a generous cup of shredded cheese. This recipe calls for one cup of shredded cheese. However, knock yourself out and get as cheesy as you like. Transfer the batter into a greased and floured muffin pan. Then, sprinkle more cheese on top. Because more cheese is always the correct decision. See previous cheesy advice. Bake these beauties for 30 minutes. Or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Every oven is difference so check them after 25 minutes.  Finally, serve them warm and try not to eat three immediately. (No promises.)

Of course, you can substitute the rosemary for your favorite herb. Feel free to go wild with fresh chopped basil, thyme, or tarragon.

Why savory muffins?

Additionally, Savory Emmental Rosemary Muffins win over sweet muffins every time. Why? They pair with eggs, soups, and salads. Or perfect for when you crave something savory and comforting. They don’t spike your sugar levels. Plus, they feel just a little more grown-up. Yet still fun in a small package.

In conclusion, Savory Emmental Rosemary Muffins prove that muffins don’t need sugar to shine. They just need cheese, herbs, and a little confidence.Emmental Rosemary Muffins
