These Maraschino Cherry Valentine’s Martinis are the quickest, easiest, prettiest Valentine’s Day cocktails ever. Ok maybe just as easy as my Rose Vodka Martinis. However, they definitely are just as stunning. I love a colorful holiday cocktail. Also, these are perfect for Christmas. However, use green maraschino cherries for the garnish and green sugar glitter for the rims. To amp up the festive holiday colors.
Firstly, decorate the rims of your martini glasses. It is key to a festive presentation for these Maraschino Cherry Valentine’s Martinis. I use a small paintbrush to coat the edges of the glasses with simple syrup. Then, secondly, pour red glitter sugar out onto a plate and swirl the glass into it.
These Valentine’s martinis contain wild cherry-flavored vodka and kirschwasser. Kirsch or kirschwasser is cherry flavored brandy that is nonsweet. Additionally, maraschino cherry juice and simple syrup are added to the mix.
Tips for Making these Martinis:
- I realize not everyone has wild cherry vodka on hand. It is no problem to substitute plain vodka. Furthermore, if you have vanilla-flavored vodka, that works nicely.
- don’t fret if you do not have red sugar glitter to make these Maraschino Cherry Valentine’s Martinis. Alternately, use plain white granulated sugar. Pulverize red or pink hard candies in a blender to use as an alternative.
- Repeat after me –I will not EVER buy simple syrup. Please do not throw your money out the window. Even people who cannot cook can make simple syrup. Pour water and sugar into a saucepan in a one-to-one ratio. For example, one cup of water to one cup of sugar. Heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. That is all. Obviously, I keep a bottle of this in my refrigerator because of how handy it is when creating cocktails.
I hope you have a lovely celebration tonight for Valentine’s Day. These cocktails are definitely on my menu.
