Get ready to crunch. Because Chili Crisp Potato Latkes are sizzling onto your holiday table with epic flavor and maximum crispy energy. Traditional latkes already taste amazing. But now? They’re taking a spicy little vacation to Flavor Town.

These latkes start with the same beloved base. Shredded potatoes. Shredded onions. A cozy Hanukkah tradition built right into every golden bite. Why latkes on Hanukkah? Because they’re fried in oil. And during Hanukkah, oil is the star. The holiday celebrates a small amount of sacred oil lasting eight whole nights. So now we celebrate with fried food. And honestly, thank goodness for miracles.

But here’s the twist. Chili Crisp Potato Latkes invite chili crisp to the party. Chili crisp is a crunchy, spicy, garlicky chili oil condiment from Chinese cuisine. It famously mixes oil with crunchy bits like fried garlic, chili flakes, and peanuts or shallots. It’s bold. It’s beautiful. It wakes up the taste buds and then gives them a high-five.

Before frying your Chili Crisp Potato Latkes, you must channel your inner potato-squeezer. You want the crispiest edges ever. So squeeze out every drop of liquid from the shredded potatoes and onions. To do this, use a sieve. However, a clean dish towel works great. The most important part is your pure determination. Then let the mixture rest for 20 minutes. After the rest, squeeze again. Yes. More squeezing. Your future crispy enjoyment thanks you.

Choose Peanut Oil for Maximum Flavor
Next comes frying. Hot peanut oil is your best friend. It delivers that savory aroma and deep, satisfying crunch. As your Chili Crisp Potato Latkes fry, they transform into golden discs of pure joy. The outside crackles. The inside stays tender. Meanwhile, you hover with tongs like an eager latke bodyguard.

When they’re ready, place them on paper towels. Admire their crunchy beauty. Then serve these with generous spoonfuls of cool sour cream. And, obviously, a dramatic dollop of chili crisp right on top for extra flair.
These crispy delights celebrate Hanukkah. These celebrate heat and crunch. They might even celebrate you. Light the candles. Pass the sour cream. Prepare for crispy bliss.
