Jump to RecipeThese pretty dessert nuggets pretty up any holiday table. Bonus? They are super simple to create. The best part? It takes only three ingredients and under a half hour to create them. Unless, of course, you are making more than 2 dozen of them. Then, the process takes a bit longer.
Other variations:
Now it’s easy to imagine by swapping out the chocolate varieties and glitter sugar colors, how many possibilities there are. Use green glitter for Christmas or pink for Valentine’s day. Gold and silver would be pretty for New Year’s eve. Use different shades to celebrate favorite sports teams or school colors. You get what I’m saying.
To create these White Chocolate-Dipped Glitter Strawberries, first, melt white chocolate chips over a double boiler. Alternately, if you do not have a double boiler, fill a saucepan with 1/2 inch of water. Place a smaller one inside. Place the white chocolate chips in the top saucepan and melt over low heat, stirring occasionally.
Wash and pat dry the strawberries thoroughly. Carefully dip them in the melted white chocolate and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. They take only a few minutes to dry. Consequently, you need to work quickly to dip the lower third in blue sugar glitter.
Sometimes the chocolate consistency does not become thin or smooth enough to dip the strawberries. So I have this tip: Stir in shortening, one teaspoon at a time until the texture smooths out.
A coconut surprise!
When the chocolate was not smooth enough, I grabbed the shortening. However, the shortening did not look or smell so good when I opened it. Alternately, I used coconut oil. This fixed the consistency of the chocolate and gave the strawberries a delightful and delicious coconutty taste. Therefore, I highly recommend adding a bit of coconut oil regardless of the texture of the chocolate. Furthermore, here are some excellent tips and tricks for dipping strawberries in chocolate.
